My Husband and I had our home built in 2006, when we decided to move from suburbia and build a home in the country. We are situated on top of a hill and we are surrounded by 7 wooded acres and beautiful farm land. Our home is only visible in the winter months, when the leaves have fallen from the trees and our only neighbors are my parents when they visit for 3 months over the summer.
We have 5 children, 2 dogs, 1 cat, 6 Alpaca and 2 miniature donkeys. We also have deer, rabbits, squirrels, foxes, lots of birds and a ton of bugs.  I could do without the bugs, but that's what you get when you move to the country.

We had our Barn built two years after the house when we quickly ran out of room for storing the equipment we needed to improve and maintain so much land.  Our barn is a beautiful white pine board and batten, completed in November 07.  It was constructed by a wonderful Amish builder; Benual Stolfutz with Archery Construction; also known as Lancaster County Barn.  They did an awesome job! And we love it!  Check them out if you are looking to add any outdoor buildings to your property.  www.lancastercountybarns.com

We started our farm in April 2008 with 4 female Alpacas two maidens, and two pregnant females with cria due in the fall. Our first male cria, Fighting Chance was born in September and our second boy, Wedding Tuxedo came in October.
We have rebred our females and are hoping for females the next time around.
